First of all---A blessed Memorial Day.  Thanks to all the service men and women who have protected the life that we have now.  Thanks to my deceased Father,Uncles, Cousins who were in World War 2--and all wars since.

Hello everyone.  Thank you so much for stopping over to the Campbell Steele Gallery last Saturday.  I was so excited to meet the great customers who look for their art at the gallery.

"Recherche'"

Good Afternoon---Hope all of you viewers are doing great and enjoying art today and every day.
The title of my painting is the word of "out of the ordinary".   I included circles and lines in several different places.  This is a larger watercolor 17 x 23.  This is put on a gray mat--I left a little mat for you to peek at.  The colors shine through quite well.  I tried this color mat to see if it would work.  As far as I can tell it did.  Hope you enjoy...let me know----Thanks for looking!!!  Love to hear your comments--good or bad!  Take care...
This is an update on this painting--I entered this abstract work into the Artists Magazine art contest this year. I hope to know by the end of July or August 2013 if I was lucky to get accepted in the contest...I will keep in touch

Join me tomorrow at Campbell Steele Gallery in Marion Ia from 10:00 am to 1:00. That is when I will be there.  Artists that are in their gallery will be there throughout the day to introduce themselves and talk art with you. 
Outside and across the street of their gallery tomorrow Sat May 18 from 0900 till 5:00 is the outstanding Marion Arts Festival.  It is rated as one of the best in the country.  Check it out on the computer--- Marion Arts Festival.

Informality

Happy Weekend---Here is a new 11 x 14 watercolor with a 2" white mat.  I had spent yesterday am continuing with my useage of lines and colors.  I took a break and my wife and I went out for a two for one lunch at KFC.  When you are a full time artist (and retired from a thirty some year job) you always have to find a bargain either on the store shelf or a restaurant.  So with that "informality" I named this painting such.  Hope that you enjoy it and let me know.

Good Afternoon--Back to doing some watercolor abstract paintings while listening to some Acoustic Alchemy---great jazz (contemporary) group. Journey On Paper

This is a recent watercolor painting called "Journey On Paper".   The painting is an 11 x 14 watercolor with a 2" white mat.   Whenever you sit down or stand at your easel with paint brush in hand and watercolor paints in front and an idea surmounts your thoughts it is always a journey to produce what is "abstractly" directing your hands and paint.  This painting is the idea that was cast from my inner feelings unto the paper.  Hope you like it.  Leave me a comment--join my blog--Stop back in a few days or even tomorrow....Thanks for looking.

Comply On Thursday

"Comply On Thursday" is the title for this particular 11 x 14 watercolor in a 2" white mat.  Why this is the title I have no reason for it at this time except this is Thursday and I would like to put this painting on my blog.  So there. I have answered my own question.  Titles are always so hard to come up with. But it is fun to use the imagination not only in painting but in naming the artwork. All of you take care and hope that you enjoy this blog and tell all your relatives about it.
